Dry, flaky or lifeless skin? Simple tips for fast results await.
Looking for simple ways to improve the tone and texture of your skin? I’d love to help.
Firstly, invest in a quality shower filter. Chlorine makes human skin chronically dry! A shower filter is the single best initial investment for your hair and skin health.
You can identify toxic ingredients and support your skin naturally. Start by using topical products free of synthetics and preservatives and an anti-inflammatory diet rich in nutrients and quality supplements.
To investigate the ingredients in your existing skincare products, I highly recommend using the EWG Skin Deep database. I use this resource regularly to find out more about individual ingredients.
Hint: Don’t pay any attention to words such as “natural”, “eco” or even “organic” on the face of the product. Look for real certifications such as Certified Organic or COSMOS Natural - not unregulated marketing words. Start from the last ingredient on your product and work your way up to the first one. Often preservatives such as phenoxyethanol and synthetics such as parfum or fragrance (which are not naturally derived) will be present at the end of the long list and are an instant red flag.
Another tip: I delve into the toxicology and carcinogenic properties of each ingredient before deciding if I want it on my skin - I don’t just look at the overall green or red rating!
Don’t like what you see? Don’t be tempted to use it up! Swap out anything questionable with any or all of the following:
1. Cleanse with organic cold-pressed Avocado or Olive Oil, just one nutritive ingredient - nothing could be simpler. You could mix the two in equal quantities and add a few drops of essential oils such as Frankincense and/or Lavender. Rinse with lukewarm water and a facecloth made from natural fibers. Repeat if necessary.

2. Add 20ml Organic Glycerine to 80ml Floral Water for a hydrating toner.
3. Exfoliate once a week using mild abrasives, never chemicals or peels. This will gently lift dead skin cells, brighten and smooth as well as provide the best possible foundation for effective absorption of your lovely products. I use fine, all natural, gentle exfoliating ingredients such as almond meal, quinoa and ground oats. I add some pure clay such as bentonite or pink/green clay, ground bamboo and essential oils and store this mixture in a glass jar. Just before applying it to my skin, I mix a teaspoon of my exfoliating clay mask with a little carrier oil and floral water. Massage gently and leave for a few minutes before rinsing to allow the clay to draw out toxins deep in the pores. Recipe coming soon!
4. If your exfoliator doesn’t contain clay, use a gentle clay face mask once or twice a week to draw out impurities.
5. Use my best-selling Flower Child Body Oil as your serum both morning and night. Ask me about adding nature’s retinol to your serum for the softest skin ever.
6. Follow with a gua sha or crystal facial roller to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve circulation and encourage lymph node drainage and product absorption.
7. Finish your evening routine with castor oil or tallow which will act as a breathable barrier and help with absorption of your beautiful serum. I won’t even mention the Vaseline craze on TikTok other than to say don’t do it! It’s glorified petroleum and will suffocate your skin.
8. Take Hydrolysed Collagen (Type I and III) and MetaPWR Advantage every day.
Harsh ingredients such as alcohol can strip your skin of its natural sebum, causing dryness, itching and even broken skin! If you have problem skin opt for apple cider vinegar or alcohol-free witch hazel as a toner to eliminate bad bacteria but hold onto the good bacteria that is naturally working to protect your skin*.
Incorporate lots of healthy fats such as organic grass-fed butter, lard, coconut oil, avocado oil and olive oil into your anti-inflammatory diet. Cook only with healthy fats that are solid at room temperature to avoid ingesting toxins. Add liquid fats to your cold dishes rather than heating them for maximum benefit.
Avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine excessively.
Hydrate properly using filtered hydrogen water if possible and electrolytes such as real salt, or clean electrolytes containing sodium, potassium and magnesium.
Try to manage your stress using essential oils, adaptogens, minerals, sunlight, nature, exercise and breathing techniques. Heightened stress will only lead to high cortisol levels which can and will impact your skin.
Use natural breathable materials on your bedding and aim for 7-9 hours sleep.
